A Very Merry Unbirthday to Me

Throughout this year, the Community Regents have been a fairly close-knit group. Besides the events that we have put on for the students, we have made sure to celebrate each others' birthdays with cake and shenanigans beginning the minute after midnight. Falling on the same day as the TCU-UT football game. However, when 0001 rolled around, there was noone to be found. Thankfully, I could rest in peace. After eleven hours of banding, I concluded that it had been a rather soggy day to be a Horned Frog. Returning to my cell phone, I noticed a text from the Community Regents Director asking me when I would be back to my room.
My presence deemed necessary, I was commanded to be present in my room at 2200 the next night.
After tidying up my disaster of a residence, I awaited the expected knock with anticipation. Within two seconds of my atomic clock chiming the hour, I received not a knock, but a full-blown drum cadence courtesy of my home's hatchway. Opening my door, I rather eloquently stated:
“Wow, there are people outside my room.”
A rousing rendition of the rather famous Girl Scout song in the key of off later, the roughly thirty of us trooped towards the Milton Daniel third floor lounge to partake of tiramisu as well as six different varieties of cupcakes. Along with the cupcakes, a balloon left by some other student allowed us to play balloon volleyball with a couch substituting for a net. What did we do then? Well, we sat around in a circle and played musical games meant for kindergarteners, that's what! Really, we did, we were helping a Vocal Music Education major with her project. Eventually, the event in the lounge wound down, and I left for the study pod, smiling and thinking that that was the end of the festivities. How wrong I was.
Although it had been a great evening, every good thing must come to a close. We retrieved our homework and went to work. Even though we were working on things like General Psychology and Electricity and Magnetism, there was still room for a little levity. Enter: terrible music videos. 'Round the table we went, listening to the end result of what happens when people with more money than sense decide to hire a recording studio. Laughing while still being productive, this final chuckling nightcap provided the end to a wonderful day.
